Cavan town will be hosting the 4th annual RunwithCatherina road race on the 8th October 2017 to celebrate the achievements of Olympian Catherina McKiernan. Catherina, from Cornafean, is one of Ireland's greatest athletes. Its the 25th anniversary of Catherina’s fantastic winnng silver in the world cross country championships (the first of 4 consecutive World silver medals) Catherina is Ireland's most successful marathon runner, winning the Berlin marathon (her first ever marathon) and then adding the London, Amsterdam marathon and Paris half marathon titles. Catherina still holds the Irish Record for the marathon.
