2012 U16 Ulster & NI Cross Country Champion

Clodagh O'Reilly continued her series of championship title wins when she won the U16 Ulster & NI Cross Country Championships in Co Down on 27th October 2012. The U10 Boys Odhran O'Reilly, Cormac Hegarty, Alex Prior, Donncha McNamara and Ethan Coyle won the silver medal in the club competition. Odhran finished in 5th, just a few seconds behind the winner and the rest of the team quickly followed with 3 inside the first 12 (Odhran, Cormac and Alex), Donncha 18th and Ethan in 32nd place out of a total field of 75 runners. Emily Sheridan was the sole runner in the U10 Girls race where she finished 15th. Mary Kate Gannon ran a good race to finish in 10th place in the U12 Girls and although complete results are not available, it looks like the the team of Mary Kate, Cliodhna Sheridan, Blathnaid O'Reilly, Ella Murphy and Kate Wilson finished in 6th place out of 14 teams. It was good news for the U12 Girls Co Cavan Team which achieved a gold medal in the county category. There were over 100 runners in this age category. Daire O'Reilly finished 13th in the Boys U12 and was followed in by Patrick McPhillips, Conor Galligan, Daniel Madigan and Conall Ruddy. The U12 Boys had 83 runners and the team look like they finished in 5th place. Ciaran O'Reilly was another sole runner in the U14 Boys. Ciaran was running a year out of age and finished in 26th place. Clodagh  won the U16 Girls race leading all the way from start to finish and Caoimhe O'Reilly and Mathilde Thomas were the other two team members who finished in 41st and 44th place respectively. In the U16 Boys race, Aodhagan Watters was well below his best finishing in midfield position and the team of Roland Surlis, Mark Wilson and Diamuid McCorry were close behind with the team finishing in 7th place overall.
